Weather Watch
The weather in Namibia has been scorching this week, with only a few clouds floating across the clear blue sky. While the sun has been intense, it hasn’t slowed us down. Guests have been keeping cool with early morning activities and shaded rest stops during the day, soaking up every bit of the Namibian experience under the radiant sunshine.
Guests from Germany – Two Epic Adventures
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of wonderful clients all the way from Germany. The group split into two, with some guests embarking on an exciting trophy hunting tour, while the others joined us for the unforgettable “12 Days in Heaven” safari with our experienced guide Bianca. It’s been a joy hosting them and seeing their amazement as they experience Namibia’s beauty firsthand.
Hunting This Week
Our trophy hunting expedition was a great success! Operating from our base in the Omitara region, just an hour’s drive from the airport, we completed several memorable hunts.
The hunters returned with impressive trophies, including a giraffe, waterbuck, oryx, warthog, and kudu. These moments were not just about the hunt but about connecting with nature, embracing the thrill of the chase, and ensuring sustainable game management for the region.
Meanwhile, we also carried out selection and meat hunting to maintain the balance of wildlife around Omitara camp and provide for the local community. It’s always satisfying when our hunts serve a greater purpose.
PH Diary – Hendrik’s Reflections
Every week here is a reminder of how fortunate we are to call this place home. Watching our guests—whether on the hunt or on tour—connect with Namibia’s wilderness never gets old. There is something magical about seeing first-time visitors marvel at a kudu’s graceful stride or a giraffe’s towering elegance. These shared moments keep my passion alive and remind me that life in the bush is a gift.
Developments – Bianca Leading the 12 Days in Heaven Safari
Bianca, an integral part of our team, is currently guiding her second group on the 12 Days in Heaven safari. This journey takes guests from the Okavango Delta through Maun, Kasane, and ends in Windhoek, giving them a taste of Southern Africa’s most iconic landscapes. Her experience and enthusiasm make each tour special, and we are thrilled to see how much our guests enjoy traveling under her guidance.
Smile of the Week
The beauty of this week wasn’t just in the trophies secured, but in the camaraderie and joy that filled each day. There’s a certain magic in the bush when a hunter achieves their goal after hours of patience, or when guests share stories by the fire under a starlit sky. These are the smiles we carry with us, knowing that every experience here creates a lifetime of memories.
